Your product pages are considered to be one of the most important parts of your webshop. Your product pages do not only attract customers but also inform them what your products are about. Having good product pages can entice more customers to buy from you.

Here are 2 simple ways to improve your product pages:

1. Using high quality images

Images are one of the most critical contents in a product page. Webshop users can visually inspect and thoroughly evaluate a product by looking at its image gallery. Webshop owners should invest in showcasing high-quality images because it increases the attractiveness of products to users, which is vital in making a purchase decision.

Below are a few examples of high-quality product images:

(Figure 1: An advantage of providing a high-resolution image – the visual details are very clear when zooming in. )

(Figure 2: This is an image gallery for a coconut oil product. One of the images shows the nutritional information, which is very helpful for health-conscious customers. The other images show vital information like its weight, benefits, best before date, etc. )

Below are some examples of low-quality product images:

(Figure 3: The image on the left is the actual product image, while the image on the right is the zoomed-in version. Since the actual image’s quality is not decent, a user cannot see more details in the zoomed-in one (it is pixelated).)

(Figure 4: The image on the left is the actual image, while at the right side is the zoomed-in version. The actual image has a low quality, that even the brand name cannot be read on the zoomed-in view.)

2. Using videos to showcase your products

In addition to displaying high-quality images, well-executed product videos are also an effective way to highlight the features, benefits, and uses of a product.

Product videos can help increase a customer’s understanding of a product in a shorter time, which may influence him or her in making a purchase decision.

Below are some examples of product pages with videos:

(Figure 5: A short video (1 minute and 40 seconds) showed the interior and exterior parts of the gas grill product. A portion of the video also showed examples of food that can be cooked on the grill. )

(Figure 6: There are two videos in this adjustable desk’s product page: one introduces the product’s variations and benefits, and the other shows the step-by-step guide on how to assemble the desk. The assembly video is an effective way to highlight the desk’s features, which can be difficult to show with images only. Providing captions is also a helpful way to communicate to users who watch videos with the audio off.)

Another method to boost product awareness is to create a YouTube channel. By uploading product videos on YouTube, the opportunity to show up in search increases.

Aside from embedding YouTube videos on product pages, the video links can also be included in email campaigns and can be shared on social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.). If the product videos are shared multiple times, then the chance of reaching the target market and potential customers gets bigger.
