Good software decisions start with business understanding, not technology. Before we recommend anything, we learn what you are trying to achieve, what your clients need, and where your current setup helps or hinders you.

Then we recommend honestly. Sometimes that means telling you the simpler, cheaper option is the right one. That honesty costs us revenue now and then; it is also why clients stay with us for years.

Every task goes to someone who does that kind of work every day, with a senior owner responsible for the whole result. An AI agent developer builds AI agents; a prompt and skills engineer writes the prompts and skills that drive them; an integration specialist connects AI to the systems you already run.

We grow our people down focused paths through training, mentoring, and on-the-job coaching, so the depth behind each role is real. AI speeds them up; experienced judgment is what keeps your software correct and maintainable.

Some companies improve their software through smaller tasks; others need a larger project completed quickly; and some want to be hands-on and shape the product themselves. There are three connected ways of working with us, stages of one journey rather than separate options.

You can start with any of the three. With Co-Dev, you shape a prototype together with us; with a Fixed Price Project, we build a defined scope for one agreed price; with Continuous Monthly Development, you send tasks as they arise and we work through them monthly. The routes can also connect: a Co-Dev prototype becomes a fixed-price build, and once something is live, Continuous Monthly Development keeps improving it.

Very large projects cannot responsibly be given an immediate fixed price, so they start with Project Scoping: a planning phase whose outcome is the exact definition of what will be built, including the price. Co-Dev is a more hands-on version of the same idea: you shape a working prototype together with us rather than scoping on paper. Either way, the outcome usually becomes a Fixed Price Project.

At the first meeting you meet a technical project manager, and often Peter, the founder of 1902 Software. Together we choose the right way to work: hands-on with Co-Dev, straight to a Fixed Price Project or Continuous Monthly Development.

• For well-defined projects that do not require a Project Scoping phase, we present a fixed price proposal, a projected timeline, and a clear plan for how we move forward, typically within two to four working days of the meeting.
• With Co-Dev, we start with a project intake, then quote a fixed price for the prototype. The shaping we do together is time and materials pricing, and the production build is a separate fixed price.
• For Continuous Monthly Development, the plans and monthly prices are on our pricing page, and you can start whenever you are ready.

You always know where your project stands. In our project management and communication tool you can create requests, follow every task from scoping to completion, see who said what and when, and talk directly with the people doing your work.

If your own developers or a third-party supplier are involved, we give everyone full access. In our experience, most collaboration problems come down to poor communication, so we remove the possibility.

Custom software development is at the core of what we do: business systems, web applications, and integrations built to your requirements. Around it we also handle ecommerce (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce), websites and CMS (WordPress, Umbraco), mobile apps (iOS, Android, React Native, .NET MAUI), AI development and AI agents, design, and testing.

Many of our clients originally worked with another company or agency. We regularly take over existing systems, and AI makes it easier. Before we begin, we use AI to analyze the codebase and architecture, so we understand what we are inheriting quickly.

You get one project manager as your point of contact, fluent in English, backed by our project management system where every task, decision, and discussion is documented. Meetings happen over Microsoft Teams. We deliberately keep communication in these two channels so nothing gets lost across scattered tools.

Many companies are sloppy about testing; often the same developer who did the task also tests it. At 1902 Software, testing is done by our in-house testing team, separate from the developers.

The result: you spend far less time testing our output, because everything we deliver has already been through professional testing.

AI is part of that testing, including our own tools, which widen coverage and surface issues faster. Experienced testers still verify everything before it reaches you.

For ongoing development, our repositories and deployment pipelines run automated checks that catch when a change has broken something, before it reaches production. A flagged issue can then be handed to AI to help produce a fix, which our developers review before it goes live.

We also offer automated regression testing, so changes can deploy several times a day with confidence. Catching problems before they reach production saves you time and cost.

We take post-project support as seriously as the project itself. The same team that built your solution handles support afterwards, which saves time and removes the classic bottleneck where a separate support team must first consult the developers.
