Get your store ready for AI agents
Be the store an agent can actually buy from
When someone asks an AI assistant to find them a product, the assistant can only recommend products it can reliably access and understand through feeds, APIs, protocols, or other machine-readable sources, and can only complete a purchase when a store can answer it correctly. Stores that can't do this are passed over silently, with no bounce to explain it and nothing in the analytics to notice.
Getting this right keeps your products in consideration when an assistant is comparing options, and lets a buyer who is ready to purchase finish without being sent away. The same work lets you run a shopping agent on your own site, where you keep the customer relationship and the data.
What agentic commerce is, and why it matters now
Agentic commerce is shopping where an AI assistant does the work: understanding what someone is looking for, comparing products across stores, and in some cases completing the purchase on their behalf.
This changes what a store has to be good at. A human shopper can forgive a thin product description or an out-of-date stock figure and work it out from the photos. An agent can't. It either has the information it needs in a form it can read, or it moves on to a store that does.
To make that possible, the industry has built shared rules that let AI assistants and online stores talk to each other. Two of the most prominent protocols today are:
- UCP, the Universal Commerce Protocol from Google and Shopify. Read more about our UCP implementation services.
- ACP, the Agentic Commerce Protocol from OpenAI and Stripe. Read more about our ACP implementation services.
UCP and ACP mostly rely on the same groundwork, so you shouldn't have to rebuild your webshop whenever a new standard emerges. We prepare the website and keep its product, pricing, checkout, and order connections working reliably, so your business can adapt as the commerce landscape shifts and remain reachable however and wherever your customers choose to shop.
What you get
- Products that agents can find and compare. Titles, attributes, variants, delivery, and returns information complete enough that an agent can match your products to what a buyer is asking for. Where descriptions and attributes are thin across a large catalog, our own WriteText.ai can generate them, and a product information management system may be the right answer when that information has to stay consistent across several channels.
- Prices and stock that are correct at the moment of purchase. Not an overnight update that may already be out of date by the time someone buys.
- A checkout that works for an agent the way it works for a person. In B2C, that means variants, promotions and discount codes, guest checkout, and multi-market tax and currency. In B2B, it means customer-specific rates, volume and contract pricing, tax exemptions, and recognizing returning buyers without handing over full access to their account. Our guide to B2B webshop features covers this in more detail.
- Payment through the provider you already use. Including its fraud checks and card security steps. The sale stays yours rather than the AI platform's, along with the payment and the customer relationship.
- Order updates that reach the agent. Confirmation, shipment, delivery, and returns, handled reliably even when messages are duplicated or arrive out of order. Our guide to multi-channel integration explains how that data moves between connected systems.
- A recommendation on which route to take first. Based on your platform, payment provider, and markets, including which routes are realistically open to you. Some are available to any merchant meeting the data requirements. Others are partner programs a store cannot simply switch on, and it is better to know that before you build toward one.
- The option of a shopping agent on your own site. Built on the same foundation, it can answer product questions, compare options, build a cart, and handle order status in the same conversation. See our AI agent development page and our MCP server development page for how that connection layer is built.
How we work with you
We start from your existing setup rather than a rebuild through a technical audit. Before development begins, we establish what already works, what needs configuration, and what needs to be built, then order the work so the things that would hold up everything else come first. A missing product attribute or a pricing rule that only works in the human storefront will stop checkout work later, so those are handled at the start.
This is the same integration work we have been doing for years across Magento, WooCommerce, Shopify, and Umbraco: connecting webshops to the business, inventory, and fulfillment systems behind them so the data holds up under real orders. Agentic commerce raises the standard rather than changing the problem.
From there, Project Scoping can turn the findings into an agreed scope and final price for a Fixed Price Project. For clients who want to be hands-on, Co-Dev is an optional starting point. Once live, Continuous Monthly Development can cover ongoing improvements and specification changes. You can start wherever your project fits. Everything we build is owned by you.
Find out if you're agentic-commerce ready
A 30-minute call is enough to tell whether agentic commerce readiness on your store is mostly a data job, an integration build, or something to prepare while the routes open in your market. Bring your ecommerce platform, payment provider, and the markets you sell in.

Commonly asked questions
Can this implementation wait or do I have to do this right now?
Nothing breaks. But the groundwork takes time regardless of which protocol you eventually implement, and it’s the same groundwork either way. Businesses that start now can move quickly when a route opens to them.
Do I need to implement both UCP and ACP?
Preparing for both is mostly the same work, so you don’t have to pick one to get started. We build the groundwork that serves either, and enabling a specific protocol becomes a configuration decision rather than a rebuild.
Does this replace our existing checkout?
No. It adds a purchase path alongside your website and app checkout. You keep your payment provider and fulfill orders as you do today.
Can I keep my existing payment provider?
Yes. The payment flow can continue through your existing provider, including its fraud checks and card security steps. The sale stays with your business, along with the payment and the customer relationship.
What if our product data isn't ready?
That’s a common starting point rather than a blocker. We identify which attributes are missing and which systems they need to come from, so the work is scoped rather than open-ended.
Can you build an agent for our own store?
Yes. The same commerce foundation can support an agent on your website or in your app. It can search products, compare options, build a cart, and retrieve order information through controlled connections to your existing systems.
